Cork Tango Summer fest has a brand new name this year: Tango Lughnasa Weekend, 2nd edition.
We welcome Hugo Patyn & Celina Rotundo back to Cork tango to celebrate with us.
Lughnasa is a Gaelic Festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. Traditionally it is held on 1 August, or about halfway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox. Have you ever heard of the play “Dancing at Lughnasa”? Brian Friel’s Olivier Award-winning play is an astonishing evocation of a family’s world on the brink of change. During the Festival of Lughnasa, Pagan and Christian meet and collide. The sisters fight each other, love each other, DANCE , yearn and survive.
Why “TANGO Lughnasa” ? Because how better then to celebrate this time of year than with Tango EMBRACE, workshops and DANCE at the Milongas and PERFORMANCE by Hugo & Celina !
Our 2nd Tango Lughnasa Weekend will take place on the 3rd & 4th of August 12pm – 12am. A fun weekend packed with Workshops, Milongas and Performance!
And since it’s a bank holiday weekend, on Monday 5th the maestros will be available for private classes. Don’t let this opportunity pass!
Cork Tango offers a warm and friendly atmosphere in the company of Tango Dancers from Ireland and all over the world. A big Cork welcome is given to all our guests.
